A little introduction :)

Hi I’m yasmina I’m an illustrator, artist, and yoga teacher. I want to write this blog to document my journey from selling random prints at art markets and online, to hopefully illustrating picture books!

I just started The Good Ship Illustration business course and I’m loving it! I’m learning so much! I was always rubbish at the business side of things, so it’s really helping.

Another thing I’ve learned from doing the course, is that I actually want to change my drawing style. Just a tad.

I come from a fine art - ish background. I did a BA in fine art and craft which I loved, but it never felt quite right. A few years later I did my MA in illustration. Which nearly killed me!  But it got me thinking more critically annnd I started dabbling in digital illustration.

I miss drawing and painting with actual materials, and I love the flexibility digital painting gives me. I need to find a way to marry the two, and see how it works for illustration.

For the first time in a long time I’m actually excited about creating something. I’m excited about illustration!
